8. Yes, but there are some (forgetful?) partisans on DU who seem to ignore that.

Just as some seem to forget there's a difference between being a "Democrat" and a "democrat."

2. I voted for opposing repukes because there were too many of the choices that IMO

are "most" important - workers, social safety net, small business, children, & infrastructure. Too bad "my" party does not support these things.

And the pukes are wrong on everything. So, going against them automatically supports a positive position.

4. Conflicted. Both the MiddleClass Workers, their issues and
the Poor, especially Safety net are of equal importance to me.

I call my issues Social Justice. Thanks.

11. I agree.
But here at Democratic Underground, when I stand up for these principles, I'm attacked, called a hater and worse.

Why is that?

7. Lesser of two evils...some of the time.
I usually vote Democratic as the "not as bad" candidate. But, I have no problem voting 3rd Party, or writing in, when they become to cozy with their Republican counterparts or the DLC wing.

"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all." --Thomas Jefferson to Francis Hopkinson, 1789.

"Were parties here divided merely by a greediness for office,...to take a part with either would be unworthy of a reasonable or moral man." --Thomas Jefferson to William Branch Giles, 1795.

“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." --John Quincy Adams

“Freedom for supporters of the government only, for members of one party only, no matter how big its membership may be is, no freedom at all. Freedom is always freedom for the man who thinks differently. “
Rosa Luxemburg

12. Not even on that list: environmental protection, respect for science
At the end of the day, all of our other problems will not even matter if we keep destroying the planet we rely on for all of our resources at the rate that we are.

13. 1, 2, 3, 7, 8. But I voted 2 because that's the most dire thing
and "social safety net" includes things like healthcare and education, IMHO.
