Pat Buchanan v O'Donnell on Obama at Notre Dame
No religious university pushes accepted truths. It's all blind faith.
Tear them up O'Donnell - WOW breathtaking.
This is the same university that welcomed Bush. Scathing and dead on target.

Brilliant O'Donnell - make sure you see the repeat.

8. Pat has tied up himself in contradictions
First it was OK for Bush to go to Notre Dame despite authorizing deaths because he didn't execute them.

So Lawrence asked him did Obama performed abortions. PWNED!! Destroyed to the ground. Pat's political ideology and Rushican talking points are the issue here not his religion.

6. Holy crap. O'Donnell is ripping up Buchanan.
Buchanan is saying that Notre Dame was justified inviting Bush because he didn't perform the executions, he just didn't prevent them. Oh, and every single one of those people Bush executed was guilty.

15. Is Buchannon aware innocent people have been executed.
Edited on Thu Apr-09-09 04:49 PM by JonLP24
As well as the racial disppearences in them. In Texas not a single person has been executed for killing a black victim. This is the Amnesty International figure. I encourage everyone to read the report in terms of how the death penalty is being applied in America.

37. Of course, he's not the one that has to flip the switch
300-400 people are released from Death Row every year due to innocence. I wonder how many of them fall thru the cracks. I'm sure if Buchannon flipped the switch on a few innocent people he'd be changing his tune, or maybe not.

24. The Catholic Church is 100% against the death penalty
O'Donnell is completely right. The Church doesn't say that it's okay to take the life of murderers, but not of innocents. Pat is lying about that to suit his own argument.

Many have.

O'Donnell addressed the central hypocrisy regarding this decision and Buchanan couldn't defend it.

35. Pat Buchanan needs to meet Sister Helen Prejean
Prejean is the Catholic nun who was the basis of the book and film, Dead Man Walking. She wrote a book called: The Death of Innocents: An Eyewitness Account of Wrongful Executions.

I wish that Chris Matthews would have her on Hardball to debate Buchanan.

32. No the pitch of his voice
and the rambling after O'Donnell destroyed him when he said Bush didn't execute those people. Buchanan is a stupid old man who does not think before he talks. Surely he knows Obama never performed an abortion.
After that 'beat down' the voice went up a few octaves.
Still the sad reality is that Pat Buchanan has no shame. He is just there to spew his (and GEs) talking points.

36. The Catholic church has hitched it's wagon to a star!
The GOP! What a great idea....a struggling religion locked in a death embrace with a political the has shrunk to the size of a bitter prune.

I remember the church in the sixties when it stood for the rights of the poor.

42. The majority of Catholics may have voted for Obama...
But the Sunday before election day their priests were given letters to read to them that told them Obama and the Democrats were against the church's views on abortion and not to vote for them.

The leaders of the church are dead set against the Democratic party and their (your?) pope is infallible. They (you?) must agree with him or you are going against the church. That's the rule of the catholic church...not mine.

All of those voters were not acting as good catholics when they voted for a pro-choice candidate.

43. Catholics are not lockstep with the Pope or the hierarchy as proven by the outcome
of the election. The majority voted for Obama. That's a fact. Despite some of the ridiculousness that comes from a few bishops and the Pope.

44. I don't mean to be rude but the pope is the church.
Christ built his church on the rock. Peter (the pope) is the rock. The pope is infallible. That's the catholic religion. If you are a catholic and don't believe these things you are not following the laws of the church and you are not a catholic.
