16. I had a cousin who ran for District Attorney

as a Republican. He lost, and I planned to ask him what the hell was wrong with him next time I saw him. He was only 35 yeas old - I was in law school - he was my "big cousin Phil." A really wonderful guy, but absolutely lost, I think, politically.

I never got to ask him. He was killed in a motorcycle accident. I like to think, all these years later, that he'd have come around and run next time as a Democrat.

How can Italian-Americans be GOPigs? I do not get it .......................

I've never run into a dog smarter than our old Happy. She was smarter than any of us. So, yeah, that list has it right.

Poodles, too, they're smart, which most people don't know.

I'm surprised that schnauzers aren't in the top ten. My former husband bred them, and they were smart, boy, were they smart! Smarter than he was, but that wasn't any big accomplishment once you got past the housebreaking ..............
