If you thought it would help?

Doesn't it help with the stomach problems of chemo?

That way you could get a read on her first reaction to the suggestion. . before you have to expose your unsavory connections :P

I just assume that it would help. I'd hate to make anything worse.

She knows my unsavory ways.. . .well, you know.

28. I a long term HIV/AIDs and 3x cancer survivor.
The short answer is YES. It helps with the chemo/ radiation/ and hiv meds nausea, it helps with the gut spasms, it also helps with managing pain, it does not take away the pain, but it helps me get a handle on it. If I take oxycontin or other opiates I get sick from them and they do not really help the pain.

6. no, you're supposed to have a friend there
& then casually mention, ignoring the older lady, that some doctors are actually recommending marijuana to counteract the chemo. Never look at her, just be sure to say it loud enough, & mention perhaps the whereabouts of someone...

Rather like std's amongst the elderly, just loudly complain that tetracycline no longer takes care of (put an std here) & there's more to worry about for the post-menopausal women than they realize. I saw the ep of Daily Show where they were attempting to tackle the very thing.

21. I've been told by those whose used it that is does help with the side effects
It also allowed them to keep food down and a person's body certainly doesn't need to deal with being malnourished and cancer at the same time.

There's also been some threads around here the last few days that it may also work as an anti-cancer agent.

33. Yes it actually blocks some of the signals between the brain
and the stomach..I honestly forget the body /mind mechanism.
I have had to take some really really vile meds that made me heave to the point where it was triggering seizures (epilepsy on top of everything else).
Another recommended method is called vaporising. It does not burn the material, but gets warm enough to release the thc, so you don't have the coughing associated.I sure could use some now!

Marijuana was America’s number-one analgesic for 60 years before the rediscovery of aspirin around 1900. From 1842 to 1900, cannabis made up half of all medicine sold, with virtually no fear of its high.

Dr. Raphael Mechoulam, NORML, High Times and Omni magazine (September 1982) all indicate that, if marijuana were legal it would immediately replace 10-20% of all pharmaceutical prescription medicines (based on research through 1976). And probably, Mechoulam estimates, 40-50% of all medicines, including patent medicines, could contain some extract from the cannabis plant when fully researched.

31. It works great for nausea from chemotherapy..
When I did chemo, if I didn't have any reefer, I would need to bring a puke bucket with me for the drive home.

If I had pot before my injections, I would stop for a cheezeburger on the way home. No shit! :P

42. Dr. Lester Grinspoon has been studying Cannabis since the 60's
His research at first was anti-Cannabis, but he soon found out how it could help his son who was diagnosed with Leukemia. Since then his research has been to prove the effectiveness of Cannabis.

Maybe you could approach the topic by suggesting Cannabis instead of Marijuana since MJ has been used in such government propaganda as of how dangerous.
