Did anyone see the guy from the Cato institute who was just on MSNBC talking about taxes.

The onscreen text said something like "Are taxes too high? Are Americans at the breaking point?" This is obviously an attempt to push the lie that Obama is going to raise all of our taxes. MSNBC has some good programming in the evenings, but for much of the rest of the time it's like Faux lite.

1. Yes, I saw it. From what I could gather, the CATO character
was saying that "sometime in the future" maybe, just maybe, Obama will have to raise taxes. Hey . . . maybe, just maybe the CATO guy will get an ingrown toenail that causes his whole foot to be infected and he'll need his leg amputated. MAYBE. Sheesh. They drive me nuts.

2. Americans are so angry about it, that they're gathering in the cities
to dump dried leaves into the water!

Sounds like the breaking point to me.

4. I LOATHE screen crawls. They should be reserved for breaking news only and
discarded once the anchors have the story themselves.

Did I mention I LOATHE screen crawls?

6. They're often distortions of what's being said onscreen.
Many people have the TV on but are busy with something else, so they see the screen crawl but don't absorb the conversation. This way they can mislead people but, if called on it, can claim innocence by saying "we didn't say that, were you even listening?"
