OMG. Fox is outraged, outraged, over he family of Captain Phillips
refusing to speak with them. On Thursday the Phillips family kicked all the media off their property (an that includes across the road from their house, which is also their property). Fox saying that the family promised to speak with them when the Captain was safe, so the poor wittle foxy reporters went back to the house and the family told them to beat it.

17. Well, they DO live in Vermont, the first state to legalize gay marriage by its legislature!
And now a near total blue state (gotta get that governor, tho).

I'm sure the freepers would have liked the captain to be from a deep South red state so he could be celebrated as a "real" American.

Hah!

19. You're right! I'm sure they hate the fact that a
liberal commie/socialist, gay-friendly blue stater is a hero!!

Poor Freepers - it just doesn't fit their stereotype.

12. actually, that's quite likely.
69% of Vermonters voted for Obama, and Underhill, as I recall, voted in Town Meeting a few years ago, to impeach Bush. And Mrs. Phillips is an RN.

18. heh, heh. New England reticence. The family has no statement
for the press today according to a Maersk spokesperson in Underhill, but thanks the American people for their well wishes and prayes and is sure they understand the family's desire for privacy at this time. The statement was given 3/4 of a mile from the family home.

And I wouldn't be surprised if Captain Phillips didn't let himself be turned into a media plaything.

37. He probably will get time off from Maersk, and will probably
take advantage of his adventure... Everyone needs an extra buck or two these days,,

I would not put aside the idea that he might even write a book about it... You know there's a movie in this too..

At his age, why not cash in?

I need to see the families cry pretty tears. Joy or anguish it doesn't matter so long as I get to watch. It's my right! :sarcasm:

Good for them! Enough with the media vultures, whatever channel. Though it is funny it's FOX.
