The pirates had EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO SURRENDER THE CAPTAIN! They didn't take it.
They continued to point a gun at the head of that captain who selflessly allowed himself to be captured to save his crew. Had the pirates just threw their hands up and surrendered their guns instead of putting their hands on their guns and pointing their guns toward the head of the captain, they'd still be alive today.

What if it was your brother, sister, father, etc.....

I just don't understand the mentality of some here. Are you just looking for reasons to criticize this president?

1. If one of those pirates was my brother I'd be kind of bummed right now
But I also probably wouldn't be surfing the Internet in the comfort of my cozy house.

2. If one of my brothers was a pirate, no, I wouldn't be surfing the net

I would probably either be starving and desparate, or I would be rich as hell from taking advantage of my brother and putting him into harms way.

You know, I would also hope or maybe expect, that my pirate brother would have the common sense not to threaten the life of an individual when surrounded by the US Navy especially when given the opportunity to surrender and not be killed. That has nothing to do with poverty.

You people have to be f'ing kidding me.

4. was my brother I'd be kind of pissed right now-
If one of those pirates was my brother I'd be kind of pissed right now-- angry that he was selfish enough to place another human being in harm's way. Pissed that by his own choice, he throw any last remnants of his own nobility away. Frustrated that he chose the life of indignity that he did. Mad that he decided that those thirty pieces of silver he was tempted to steal was more important to him than the safety of other people.

But yeah-- I suppose "bummed" would be another way to state it.

5. And the one to be bummed at would be at your brother.
Teen idiocy CAN lead to getting one's head shot off.

6. Pirates don't have brothers and sisters.
Edited on Mon Apr-13-09 05:37 PM by Oregone
This sub-human breed is quite different than the average individual. Their deaths aren't just permissible occurrences, they are reason to reign glory down upon our nation. Do not question your president in a time of pirate war (that is treason).

Do you even fuckn tip your waitress? With that attitude, I doubt it.
