The Congress Forum - Does it have a purpose?

Does anyone know what the original intent was in establishing the Congress forum? I think it could be useful to track legislation, especially if it appears at the top of the greatest page with the "Big Forums"

6. Evening kick, the forum is there yet it gets very little activity....

I made a similar post about this last year, a great tool to focus our attention which is ignored.

7. I looked at it for the first time before posting the Dorgan/Maddow thread.

Perhaps it can be used for the focus/links and funneled up or as you say, tagged to HomePage.

IMHO knowing what they're doing that's GOOD and esp. re the "financial crisis" or any other urgent matter is IMPORTANT.

8. Thanks, in the past I have seen a last minute push to contact

members of Congress on one issue or another when a vote was coming up shortly, we should know in advance.

OTOH many bills die in Committee when we should be actively pushing for them to make their way through the process, such as S. Res. 62.
