4. I cannot comprehend why Mr. Minor was not allowed time to be with his wife...
at the end, it is beyond cruel, imo.

Thanks, Larissa, for posting this.

It was a ruling by Priscilla Owens that was used as the basis for him being denied furlough.

You know, one of the judges that the gang of 14 just HAD to have in the federal judiciary. Once the Democrats capitulated to Bush's demands, his judges and his political hack attorneys went right ahead and started political prosecutions. So much for "bipartisanship".

It burns my britches EVERY TIME one of these right-wing judges makes rulings like this. This could have been avoided with a little courage, but instead our illustrious DLC/blue dog/centrist Democrats won the day, and now we have Priscilla Owens making rulings bereft of humanity like this one.

Capitulation has far-reaching consequences that dwarfs the political expediency given as the reason for it.

7. In the article from Raw Story....
it seems Mr. Minor was denied a furlough at the urging of the Justice Department. What possible rationale could they have to urge this denial?

Re Owens, I totally agree re the capitulation in the Senate that resulted in this horrible woman being appointed, it is appalling.

at the end of that article.

It's a very valid piece of information. Nicely done, Abraham ..........................

15. God bless her,
and her poor husband.

I share his sorrow, so aggravated by the terrible perversion of our own justice system.

Thank you, larisa, for what you've done to make this known.

May peace be with them both.

19. I understand...
I just can't imagine his dispair, I'd like to let the guy know he hasn't been forgotten and that there are people in this country who ARE aware of his plight and offer some sympathy for the passing of his wife.
