Conservatives outraged at DHS assessment warning of violent 'rightwing extremism'

Published: Tuesday April 14, 2009

An April 7 report by the Department of Homeland Security is causing waves of indignation among conservatives for labeling "rightwing extremism" the "most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States."

In its key findings, the 10 page document (PDF link) put forward by the Office of Intelligence and Analysis states that there is "no specific information that domestic rightwing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence," but warns law enforcement agencies that the economic recession, coupled with the recent election of the first African-American President of the United States, is driving radical groups' recruitment.

3. They didn't seem to have a problem with raising alarms over the leftwing extremism
of individuals like PETA or, heck, just about anybody who dared criticized Bush/Cheney at all.

8. all this does is remind of the awful hate filled right wing outrage at the time
of david koresh.

the awful comments about the atf, janet reno -- the more things change the more they stay the same.

remember Oklahoma City.

9. The Conservatives are seeing their 28 years of dreams
getting ready to blow away in the wind.....Once the violence escalates on behalf of the Repug party and Conservatives....they OWN it.

So their TeaBagger Parties......well I am guessing their will be violence from their own....and it goes down hill from there.

The more Rush, Beck, O'leilly, Hannity keep pushing people to arm themselves and more cops and innocent people get injured or worse...they are done.

It will be up to us the rest of the US citizens to call for them to be recognized as "Terrorists". This is not free speech anymore, this is attempting to rise against the state in violence...

10. Some liberals were outraged about the warning about environmental terrorist.
I don't want DHS to worry about the politics of honest threats.
