Could Glenn Beck be a Genuis like Andy Kaufman or Sascha Cohen
Edited on Tue Apr-14-09 07:25 PM by brettdale
Im serious, Im thinking that this is his thing, perhaps hes just playing a part of some bizarre extreme right winger and he's actually a normal well minded left wing person.

People go to extremes for their art and the best in the business, like Kaufman or Cohen stay in charterer and never let people in on the joke, perhaps that is what Beck is doing?

Because no one in their right mind would be that fuckin stupid and more of a embarrassment to the human race than Beck,so it has to be an act, Im being serious here.

8. We all like to think that, but when push comes to shove, these people are all hos.
Nice thought for fiction, but that's all it is. They always do it for the money.

4. I'm deferring to Olbermann on this one.
He mentioned on Real Time a few weeks ago that he's pretty sure O'Reilly and Hannity would come over to the left if they thought there was money in it. Beck, though, is probably actually insane.

6. Now that's a theory!
It is hard to believe that he's for real. I would love to see him one-on-one with a historian who specializes in fascism or even someone who knows a little history...he gets away with so much because his audience knows so little, obviously.

Beck would've had to cultivate this image for decades. I don't think he'd go through that trouble

9. No, he is not of the caliber of the folks that you mentioned.
Beck is a narcisist who got the luckiest break of his life to be on the TV machine. His ignorance and the hate he spews is dangerous for America.

15. He's a bullshit artist. I don't consider that a "talent"
At least Andy Kaufman and Sacha Baron Cohen had real talent and a gift for characters. And they were entertaining.

Beck couldn't keep in character for so long and make it believable.

18. Unlikely
I listened to him before he made it big-time. He was the local morning show co-host on KC101 in New Haven, CT. His partner was a guy named Vinnie Penn, self-styled as "The Guido Rocker" and who wrote songs such as "You Don't Belong in a Thong" and "Sluts from Misquamicut".

I think you can guess who was the moralizing stick-in-the-mud.

Later on he moved down to Florida to do a syndicated show or sumptin'... then a few years later he's on CNN Headline News.

Dunno what happened to Vinnie, but I wish HE had gotten a syndicated radio show instead!

Exaggerated self-importance and pomposity
Grandiose behavior
A rigid, judgmental outlook
Impatience
Childish behavior
Irresponsible behavior
Irrational rationalization
Projection
Overreaction

23. From the Rodeo Clown's mouth um..... (own ass)
The New York Times has a front-page article on the success of Glenn Beck’s Fox News show. According to the Times, Beck has become “one of the most powerful media voices for the nation’s conservative populist anger.” Although he says he believes every word he says, he doesn’t think smart people should actually listen to him

Mr. Beck says he believes every word he says on his TV show, and the radio show that he still hosts from 9 a.m. to noon each weekday.

At the same time, though, he says he is an entertainer. “I’m a rodeo clown,” he said in an interview, adding with a coy smile, “It takes great skill.”

He added later: “I say on the air all time, ‘if you take what I say as gospel, you’re an idiot.’“

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/03/30/beck-idiot/

I would never consider him to be a left winger. He's in it for the money.
