Wealthy republicans are busing in people collecting unemployment and welfare
I love the irony of these people collecting money from the government being bused in by republicans to complain about taxes.

3. BS. It is a bigoted thing to say.
1. The protests are at noon and many may be using their lunch break
2. People work different shifts.
3. Ppl could be using PTO for these "events".

Anyway, why would they need to bus people, there is apparently a protest in every village throughout the land today.

4. It's not bigoted at all.
Most people who have jobs are at work at noon. These people are unemployeed republicans members who are bused in. They are "protesting" during the day and sucking at the government teet at night.

5. Disgusting
1. You do not know that ppl who are on unemployment or welfare are "sucking at the government teet" without cause. The vast majority of them are needy and unable to care for themselves.

2. The "government" does not pay for unemployment benefits. Employers do.

3. "Sucking at the government teet" is a bigoted, dirisive, thing to say about a portion of our population who need our help. Or are you one of the "let them beg and starve" sort.

The Devil hears you talking. You may need help someday and I hope ppl don't then accuse you of "sucking at the government teet."

10. I'm one of the "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" sort.
This is exactly what the republicans say about a democratic protest "Bused in union members." Why shouldn't we believe that these people are bused in?

13. Yeah, about that.
The republicans make a lot of offensive bigoted comments about people on welfare.

When you turn around and do the same ... the ultimate target is still poor people on welfare.

14. Well, "they do it too" is a pretty crappy defense in court and in society.

I'm home today. I have a job.

Lots of people work odd hours (especially in this economy). People in retail or restaurants often work shifts (stores and restaurants are often open in the evenings). A lot of people have days off - government employees can get up to 6 weeks of personal time a year, more if they roll them over. (From August to December, my partner normally doesn't work Fridays, just because he prefers 4 day weeks, even though he's full time.) Some people are retired, some are stay at home parents.

If you really want to go there, though, the obvious conclusion - which probably has some truth to it - is that the protests would be a lot larger if they were on a Saturday.

Furthermore, I fully agree with hamlette's statement: "Sucking at the government teet" is a bigoted, dirisive, thing to say about a portion of our population who need our help." It's personally offensive and bigoted sounding to me, as someone who 20 years ago used WIC coupons.

11. Actually it looks like
Most of them are probably retired from what I see. Maybe they would like to give up their SS payments since it's such an evil socialist concept?
