Who is more powerful? Rupert Murdoch or Italian PM Silvio Berslusconi?
On the on hand, Silvio is actual Prime Minister of Italy, as well as media mogul. So, Silvio really is the actual political leader of Italy.

However, Rupert (also a media mogul) may be more powerful by virtue of the fact that he is not elected. Rather, he can exert pressure on the federal government through Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, as well as generate popular supports by promoting "grassroots" protests:

Heck, he has even managed to convince people that Obama is a liberal facsist even though that phrase is an oxymoron.
