Ice Teabagging: Movement plans 4th of July protests.

Tax day will come and go, but it looks like the tea party movement is going to stick around for a while.

Rebecca Wales, lead organizer of the tax day protests in Washington, D.C., tells the Huffington Post that the tea party movement has only just begun. Additional tea parties are already in the works for Independence Day. (In the famous unpremeditated rant that got this whole movement started, CNBC's Rick Santelli said that he wanted a Chicago Tea Party in July).

"We already have tea parties being planned on July 4th," Wales said. "Somebody asked today going to have a Million Person March. I don't know about that."

Despite wretched rainy weather and a lack of cooperation from authorities -- D.C. police yanked a permit for a second event at the Treasury, and the Secret Service temporarily cleared out the park where the event was held -- Wales says authorities told her they counted some 3,000 tea partiers.

"Despite all the problems we've had today, it's been amazing," she said. "My hope is that in 2010 people running for office really know that they have to take issues like limited government -- they have to take fiscal responsibility -- they have to really look at those things."

9. Maybe it is time
to have our own "President Obama Appreciation Day" on July 4th and show them what "crowds" really look like.
Morons at fox blogs are stating that "Hannity's event" drew more people than Obama's inaugaration - that is right, THREE MILLION at the tea parties, maybe three million at ONE EVENT! MAROONS.

10. Nothing like hot weather and right wing gun nuts to bring on
the shoot out at OK corral! Obama should plan right now not to be nowhere near DC for this gig. These crazy *ucks are as likely to set the house ablaze as anything else.

13. oh about 99 percent of these guys shoot like Dick Cheney
They can barely handle quailtards let alone a real life gun battle. The biggest fear is that they'd shoot their own toes off.

11. No way
The rednecks that get shit to blow up and moonshine won't have time to go to a teabagging event. Plus the media won't care on the 4th.

14. shrinkage
I for one agree with you. Unless there is deep sincerity of the people involved, these kind of pseudo protests just slowly peter out.
