An experiment.
Thesis:

The Administration of President Obama is a substantial improvement over the Republican trainwreck yet its actions to date on several key issues such as expanding the war in Afghanistan, propping up voracious financial institutions and repeating Bush era justifications for curtailing civil liberties raise serious questions regarding its commitment to a fundamental change in American policy and government.

Hypothesis:

This discussion thread will devolve into addled personal attacks within ten posts.

2. One thing though, President Obama said throughout the campaign...
that he would continue in Afghanistan... (I don't agree with that, but he has kept his campaign promise on that one). I am skeptical about the financial institutions, but am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this. Don't like his stance on civil liberties court shut downs, but again maybe he knows something that we don't.

It reminds me a lot of 1993 right now. The "change" between Poppy and Bill was much less than I expected and desired.

Perhaps there really isn't that much disagreement on DU.

13. Hypothesis disproven. New Hypothesis: will devolve within 25 posts.
Alternate Hypothesis: Thesis too complicated for those unable to distinguish between Republicans, Clinton Supporters, and Leftists/Progressives.
