In retrospect, it wasn't funny at all, today.
Do you recall the person yelling "kill him" at the McCain rally?

Multiply that by thousands.

That's what was going on today.

30. Binghamton wasn't even political, you goof.
It was a mentally disturbed nut that thought police were sneaking into his room and touching him in his sleep.

One moran held a sign saying "American taxpayers are Obama's Jews in the ovens".

And I consider myself normally immune to RW moranics.

9. I never thought any of it was funny ..........
It's all fueled by anger and hatred. And what scares me most is that these assholes are going to encourage a Travis Bickle, who's going to get a gun - if he doesn't already have one, or a bunch of guns - and he's going to head out to put his name in the history books.

All that anger, all that hate, they do not lead to anything constructive. The encouraging of these things is incendiary, fanning the flames, and then throwing kerosene on them, and that scares me. These people are just a few seconds away from violence, given the right push..................

16. Yep, and I think that it borders on Treason by some of the MSM; ie: Faux noise....
Limbaugh and others.... I sure hope that our Government is on top of this and won't hesitate to deal harshly with those that cross the line.

10. I don't agree with that
That's like saying all the people at anti-war rallies are saying kill the troops.

Today seemed to be a strange collection of fringe elements. Seemed to draw the same kind of crowds that the G(x) protests draw on the left...a hodge-podge of people protesting all kinds of stuff. To say that all those people want to kill Obama is a little ridiculous. I have a lot of real, true hate for George Bush but I wouldn't have ever tried to kill him or encouraged others to do so.

I am fantasizing that this Administration is giving them just enough rope to hang themselves, and they will all "disappear" - and they will disappear constitutionally, legally .....unlike the methods Cheney used to "disappear" people.

Edited on Wed Apr-15-09 10:24 PM by Wetzelbill
Some people laugh at this stuff because it alleviates the concern. The teabaggers have been rightly mocked, but underneath all that laughter we know how goofy some of these people are. Laughter keeps us sane, thinking constantly about how scary these groups are sure won't.
