False Outrage Joe? Why, Your Side Hasn’t Tried That Since… Yesterday.

At the tea-bagging parties. Now, I’m addressing this to you and your panel, Joe Scarborough, but I’m hoping you will forward a copy of this letter to your ideological brothers and sisters at Fox News. It’s just that I don’t expect anything better than lies from Fox. Their whole station is devoted to keeping the base just angry enough to never think things through or to become apathetic about the process, but not so angry as to become violent. (Obliviously when a media outlet dances on a line long enough, it inevitably gets crossed, as resent events have shown.)

Just yesterday the propagandists on the right whipped up their base and they had micro-protests sponsored by Fox all over the country. Tea-Baggers they call themselves. And if the right doesn’t like the inference, then maybe you people should think through your marketing techniques next time you try to tie your false, manufactured movement to a legitimate piece of history.

Today it’s the ‘War on Veterans’ as you termed it. The facts will not enter into the discussion if you can help it. And Fox of course will always do their part to keep the contrived outrage fact free. How much outrage could be directed at the Obama administration if the fact that the study was commissioned under Bush, came to light? Or that fact that a report on left-wing extremists came out in January? Or how about focusing on the laws the Bush administration broke while dealing with anyone remotely critical of their policies? Or will you openly avow that there is no difference between Quakers and the KKK? I’d really love to see you and your brethren at Fox pull that off with a straight face.

But it never is about reality with these types of stories, is it? Whether it was Howard Dean stating that Sadam Hussein didn’t attack us 2004, or Hilary Clinton stating that our drug use is partially to blame for the violence in Mexico in 2009, or a report stating that groups espousing violence and have used violence in the past, are violent and should be watched. Your side will never let a story’s truth get in the way of a good outrage.
