1. At the end of the day

all that matters is the opinions of the voters of IL. They will be the ones who will decide what will happen with that Seanate seat. They may have to endure a couple more years of Burris before they vote him out. Or maybe they will keep him.

It's been a long time since I lived in IL so I have no inkling of how all of this will play out. I just hope IL doesn't lose the seat to a Republican.

3. The Republicans could run a knee jerk tea bag drooling

conservative and defeat Burris in the general. It is also not likely he will win the Democratic primary. He is totally tied to Blago and thus terribly unpopular here. I can't imagine who would be sending him all this money.
