It's of torture, my old friends

In restless cells, they hung alone
Twisted joints and bruised bones

And they gasped at the splash
That took their breath, made them expect
an eternity of silence.

And in my discontent I saw
millions of people, maybe more,
People tortured for our not speaking
NSA always listening,
People silently accepting tortures
For no one dares
Disturb the sounds of silence.

“Fools,” said I, “You do not know
Torture like a cancer grows.
Read the words that they might teach you
let the memos of crimes reach you
don't let cries for justice as silent teardrops fall
to fill the wells of silence."

Yet, Democrats bow and praise
the president that they have raised.
"Moving on" is met with warnings
of the precedent that is forming
By lefties soon denounced in DU’s halls
and Freeperville’s walls.
But, surely torture cannot be overlooked
amid the sound of silence.
