World's Worst Teabagger Suffers for Her Beliefs

Joanne Millard, 68, a resident at Riverfront Apartments, slipped on a rock and then fell into the water while dumping tea leaves from a plastic bag into the river to protest the recent trillions of dollars in government spending

5. Let me get this straight. A women protesting having to pay taxes,
is rescued by Emergency workers paid for by tax dollars. Being 68, I would assume she is collecting SS, and may be on Medicare, with drug benefits.

Hmmmm.

6. I hope she remembers that it was her taxes that helped get her out of the water
and gave her medical treatment.

Thank goodness for taxes.

And I know the area - she's living in an apartment for subsidized living so there is a good chance this woman is living high off the government teat of tax dollars making her life bearable. If she's so anti-taxes she should reject all these programs that help her make ends meet. If she did she'd probably be homeless and in poor health.

12. At which point, she offered bids to several independent contractors for her rescue
and carefully calculated the fiscal impact, getting the best value for her return-- thereby allowing the free market, which solves everything, to pull from the river.

Right?

I'm glad she is okay.
And to some, she's even a "hero"....
I fail to see a connection to what she did and someone returning tax money.

(...)
Some have questioned the credibility of the tea parties by stressing that the events were promoted by conservative cable news networks. Who called for the parties may matter less than who attended them. Real people paused their daily activities to gather together and express shared concern that the federal government is spending too much money.

The Obama administration might be correct in thinking that the best way out of a recession is to boost spending, but many working Americans have serious doubts and are worried that the cost of throwing cash at this crisis will create problems for generations to come.

Millard shared the day and theme with the tea party-goers, but her actions were more reminiscent of the nameless farmer from Warrior Run School District who last year, without fanfare, returned his slots-funded tax rebate. These types of personal acts may bear poignancy lacking in other well-planned and choreographed events.

Millard's protest was not intended to influence anyone, rather hers was an action of conscience.

Amidst the babble of partisan bickering, it might be the quiet voice that is most worth considering.

20. Example of a difference btwn Dems and GOPigs...
I looked to see if someone already responded by saying something like:

"Is she all right?"

"Is she all right? Then LOL!"

It's so simple, and we see it daily--liberals care about people, even whack-jobs like this tea bagger. Libs don't wish ill on people, generally.

A typical Republican response would have been "LOLOLOL!!!!" and not even ask if the person was hurt. Someone taking a pratfall is, like everything else, for THEIR entertainment.
