Busy Bush Cuts Short Visit to Walter Reed
As the president wrapped up his visit an hour earlier than scheduled, his administration moved to improve care....

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/03/30/AR2007033000200.html

The WH would have us believe that these visits are very important to Junior. From yesterday's briefing-

...And there is no more personal moment that he has, and it's one of the -- one of the memories that I cherish the most of working for the President, because you see his gratitude, and they share hugs, and they share laughter, they share tears. And these are very personal moments.

We worked hard to find time on the President's schedule where he could spend three hours up there....The fact that the President is going up there and spending three hours today I think is significant.

So what happened? Did the decider have to dash out for an emergency bike ride or something?

Journalists were allowed to take pictures and watch for only a few minutes before being ushered out.....Reporters were not allowed to interview patients in Abrams Hall, hospital officials said, citing logistics.

Logistics. As you can see from this shot, (where Pretzeldent ponders lowering the enlistment age) it would have been a nightmare trying to squeeze in a pool reporter.

If patients don't want to talk to the press, that's one thing. This looks like something different.

The hospital instead made available two doctors, who spoke glowingly about the president's visit and had no information to provide about the facility's problems.

2. I would like to know WHY the WH called a VFW in northern Virginia
demanding that time and hundreds of seats be provided for Bush to come there and make a speech. They don't want him there but I believe they are afraid to say NO to the decider.

I abhor these photo ops using our soldiers and veterans. * does not own them, is not one of them and should leave them out of his evil schemes.

3. Amen! He uses military personnel as he does babies...
Didn't I read that the military cannot be used in such a way? It is so obvious why they are there. I did notice one person giving someone else the eye over a couple comments Bush made. Too bad they all don't express their feelings that way. THEN, he'd quit using them.

4. He's looking pale and sweaty in that first picture
and definitely paying a whole lot more attention to the baby than any soldiers in the second. He should be forced to examine every excruciating detail of the wounds these vets are suffering because of him.

6. Considering his history as a Chickenhawk....
I am sure the sight blood, scaring, real amputations etc, made him queasy. He's such a pompous pussy (apologies to more sensitive-my brothers and other military types I know used that as the ultimate insult to a coward and some how it seems so right at the moment).

7. The paper (not the WaPo website) said that the President allowed
a photograph of a soldier's tatoo of a naked woman. I thought that was odd... but it is not in the website article.
