If Holder has an ethical bone in his body he should resign

If them man will not prosecute for violation of the most basic of human rights, the right not to be tortured then he has no business commanding the Department of Justice or any other Agency of Government.

1. I don't think we're quite there yet.
It is worrisome that the administration keeps making statements like "we're not looking backwards" or "nothing can be gained from dwelling on the post" and "we are looking forward" etc.

But prosecuting mid level CIA guys misses the point. If they are passing on the low man in order to appropriately indict those responsible for giving the orders, that would be completely appropriate.

And as anxious as I am, and as pessimistic as I might feel, its too early to start screaming "throw the bums out" - we have a full review of all of this due in June, there has been no concrete declarative statement that prosecutions will not occur, only innuendo.

I think the appropriate attitude is skeptical patience. I think its understandable to even be pessimistic, but all the facts are just not in yet about what this admin is going to do on this...

4. But we're not talking generic mid level CIA.

We're talking about torturers. The people who did it with their hands. Please let's not forget that. These people weren't simply passing on some abstract policy decision. They were destroying people.

And, I agree with you about Holder. Holder took on the most corrupted of all the corrupted Bush departments. I don't know how he manages to get up every day to go to work. I'd run away, myself.

Managing the sewer that is the government Obama stepped into means in part, doing traffic control. My hope is that is what is going on here.

5. the reason this country is in such piss poor ethical shape ...
we utterly fail to prosecute connected or powerful people for heinous crimes.

we talk a lot of shit but just dont deliver.

the only time they seem to get prosecuted is when its a political hit job.

2. You answered your own question, so to speak. Remember Chiquita.
Obama is a real disappointment, following tons of bad advice and reaping tons of bad karma.
