I posted about this case last week, before she was charged with rape with a foreign object and lewd behavior on a child. At the time I was thinking of other motives, but this completely changes the scenario, and now I understand why the chief investigator made that comment about the FBI Behavioral Sciences unit dying to study this woman.
Is she the first-ever suspected (clearly she's innocent until proven guilty, and it must be verified that she acted alone and is not taking the fall for an authority figure like a father or grandfather) female pedophile/killer?
Has John Douglas weighed in on this case? I Googled "Huckaby" and "John Douglas" but nothing of substance came up.
One has to wonder if Melissa Huckaby was herself a victim of abuse. She reminds of that case known as "Sibyl" (spelling?), based on the little I've read about her background and social profile.
My guess had been that she was possibly an undiagnosed schizophrenic with a religious delusion, but after learning about the special circumstance allegations, I'm completely speculating in new directions. The case makes me very sad. I watched the raw footage of her arraignment and in spite of my anger at the crime itself, it choked me up. I felt I was looking at someone who suffered intensely.
