Does the Governor say it, too?

Just wondering.

1. In Texas, it is required by law to recite the pledge in public schools

Any particular reason you think that a man with a weak grip on a barely won office speaks for the entire state?

3. I figured that. So it's just the governor and his pals who don't know what it means.
(Do you honestly think, though, that we'll have a Democrat as Governor anytime soon?)

9. Why do you hide your state in your profile?
Are you ashamed of something?

Bless you heart. The Texas pledge is not mandatory. However, we'll still give hospitality to any stranger, even the rude ones.

2. Aren't those just a bunch of meaningless words surrounding "UNDER GOD!!!!111!!" ?

4. Just because we have a stupid governor does not mean
all Texans are stupid. We have more than our share of idiots. We do have a lot of universities that produce a few intelligent people however they are in the minority.

5. My many relatives in Texas know what the pledge means. They along with many others believe the
federal government has failed in it's obligations to enforce our Constitution and infringes on state powers protected by the Tenth Amendment.

I see many similarities with their position and the many DUers that threaten to leave the U.S. if things don't go their way.

One group wants to personally leave the U.S. and the other group wants their state to leave the United States.

6. These words must be such a reward for your ignorance.
From the bottom of my Texas heart.

8. I was being ironic. I know they say the pledge.
But I don't think Perry and his allies must be doing more than mouthing the words.

10. I wouldn't worry about Perry
he just did us all a favor, he labeled himself a secessionist - not a good thing to do if you have aspirations for higher office - imagine his opponents campaign ads should he decided to run for senate or president.

Fools, they get caught up in the moment, in the emotions and don't think.

Talk about having to explain away the missing lapel pin.

11. Probably just two words of it ...
they probably mutter everything else, and then shout "UNDER GOD!" at the top of their lungs ... signifying that the only two words that mean anything are the ones not actually in the Pledge ...

12. Is there a Pledge of Secession by these so-called "patriots?"
Their true colors have come out. They are fascists, not Americans.

13. ",,,They are fascists, not Americans." Isn't it possible to be a fascist
and still be an American, in that one is a nationality and the other is not.

14. The problem with requiring a pledge be said is
you begin to recite it without ever understanding or
believing what you are saying. It's a mindless activity.
