Do The Dems Need Better Media Representatives To Defend Their Causes?......
I didn't watch all the Sunday shows. Just watched CNN and listened to James Carvell and Bob Bennett. I'm sorry - but Carvell just doesn't seem to cut it when it comes to defending the Dems or the Obama administration. And as I think back on most of the Dem representatives that appear on these cable news shows - they just don't seem to defend or refute the wild ass statements made by the Repug talking heads and they really let them get away with out and out lies or great bending of the actual facts.

Is it me or do others feel the same way?

I think that we need better representatives to go out there and defend and talk up what the Dems and the Obama administration is doing.

We need people to challenge the Repug talking head statements and call them out when we know they are blatantly misrepresenting facts. The Dem talking heads are just too nice and they let the Repug/RW'ers get away with murder.

1. I agree, but I believe that the media handpicks who they will have on
to "represent" us, unfortunately.

14. They invite who they want... usually TERRIBLE representatives of the
liberal, or at least not knuckledragger viewpoint.

2. Watched Larry Summers today
on Press the Meat, or as much of him as I could stand - changed the channel after I started nodding off. If Dems are going to put a mouthpiece out there to represent us in the media, they should at the very least evince passion and conviction for the cause they're espousing. The kindest thing anyone can say about the milquetoasts currently speaking for us are that they are less than effective. Lame.

6. Carvell is a compromised beltway ass monkey
if he ever was really a Democratic partisan the way Bennett, for example is a Fundaloon partisan, it was a long time ago. We need better media. Better media representation would follow from that.

8. I'd like to see democrats...
..with the ability to simply state the facts, and not dance around them hoping they get the message across without offending the mean repugs. I nominate Bartcop for official Democratic spokesperson. Thanks.

10. It think it's a losing battle...
like expecting apples from a pear tree. With newspapers failing, we're going to be getting even less unfiltered news. The sad part is I think people will be even more accepting of whatever the tv tells them.

11. I just watched CNN/John King prior to Obama's speech and yeah,
we need better media reps. That comment by Borger about Obama not being as popular here as "over there" pissed me off so much I banged out an email to them....not that they care.

Or any number of DU's own, fine, articulate thinkers.

As a progressive, I LEARN from them.

The rest of the nation might learn a thing or two as well.
