We couldnt handle discovering that so many things we happened one way actually happened some other way.

What if....(conspiracy corner- not saying I believe any, most, or all of these) we found out and it could be proved...
...that the CIA killed JFK and MLK
...that we faked the Moon landing
...aliens had landed here
...(insert any other "conspiracy" here)

People could not handle that things were not what they believed.
