A 4/20 point.. From 1920 to 1933 alcohol was "decriminalized"
To celebrate April 20th I'm going to explain an apparently not commonly known fact.. During alcohol Prohibition it was not illegal to possess or consume alcoholic beverages, it was just illegal to manufacture, import or sell alcohol within the USA.

That is essentially the idea of "decriminalization" as applied to recreational drugs these days.

Decriminalization will do nothing to end the violence or the vast corruption brought on by today's status of recreational drugs other than alcohol and tobacco, only outright legalization, control and regulation of normal retail sales can do that.

We already ran the experiment about ninety years ago, the results have been in for a very long time.

1. It's kind of sad
That I could technically go to prison for the gram I have in my dorm room.

I hate sounding like a hippie but I really do think it should be legalized.

4. Why would you hate to sound like someone who was right about nearly everything?
Series!

The DFHs were right about unrestrained capitalism, war, "drugs" and just about everything else.

2. Yep, once the little home winemaker finished his production, he was safe.
Same with the guy making beer in the basement. Or the bathtub gin crowd.

3. I fully agree
Decriminalisation will just allow the private jails to be filled quicker. Encouraging consumption while doing nothing for ending the illegal cartels that look set to take down the largest neighbour to the US. Legalisation is the only way to go other than continuing throwing billions on a war against drugs that only serves to help the prison "industry".
