Ann Arbor-Based Law Center Sues Homeland Security Over 'Right-wing Extremism' Issue
Source: Ann Arbor News

The Ann Arbor-based Thomas More Law Center says it has filed a federal lawsuit against Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

The non-profit law firm said the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's "rightwing extremism policy," reflected in an Intelligence Assessment publicized last week, violates the civil liberties of combat veterans as well as American citizens by targeting them for disfavored treatment on account of their political beliefs.

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on behalf of conservative radio talk show host, Michael Savage, Gregg Cunningham (president of the pro-life organization Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, Inc.), and Iraqi War Marine veteran Kevin Murray, according to the Thomas More Web site.

The Law Center claims that Napolitano's department violated the First and Fifth Amendment rights of these the plaintiffs by attempting to chill their free speech, expressive association, and equal protection rights.

The lawsuit further claims that the Department of Homeland Security encourages law enforcement officers throughout the nation to target and report citizens to federal officials as suspicious rightwing extremists and potential terrorists because of their political beliefs.

3. Desperate
These monsters are desperate for attention. They want to fight the government because they aren't in charge but they have to get lawyers to do the fighting. But of course they are completely against normal people suing anyone.

How desperate do you have to get to preserve hate? Just shows Megan McCain hit the nail on the head about the Republican Party living in their past. If they can't keep their racist, homophobic, misogynist hate of the past going, they have nothing.

4. This will fly like a lead balloon
The first judge that gets a look at Napolitano's statement will say "where's the beef?" and
for the first and only time in their lives, these clowns will be shown to be vegetarian.

The judge may even fine them for wasting the People's time.

5. Another Wingnut Hate Radio Stunt...
Last year we had the "birthers", then there were those who were shitting bricks that the "Fairness Doctrine" would come back and their beloved swillfests would be regulated, next came the gun scare (and the resulting deaths that caused) and now add this to the list of "outrages" that are fodder for AM radio.

The other day I saw Bettamillion Bill Bennet do his faux slowburn over how he and his ilk were being targeted because...and he began to parse the report to make it sound like it was directed at him. Of course, no mention of reports done over the years about left-wing groups or any context. He was certain this was another attempt to muzzle him cause he was a "CONservative" and rushpublican.

The irony is I'm certain the next Tim McVeigh is tunining today, as he usually does...tick, tick, tick....
