10. I'm Not Sure He'd Have Gotten Such A Warm Welcome...
...had Holder announced indictments last week.

The agency has to be glad the cloud of Chenney has lifted. They became the whipping boy for the booooosh regime, why, I think the Abu Grahb pics and then the information about the wireless wiretapping came to light.

:hi:

13. Now I think this is just a bit over the top don't you think?
There are thousands of employees at the CIA and the vast majority of them are 9-5 office workers with real aspirations to help the US. We can't demonize everyone at the agency simply because there were a few assholes at the top.

8. It is a time for "reflection not retribution"
He values their work, and even has one of their own, John O Brennan, among his advisors. He said not to be discouraged by what has happened in the last few weeks, i.e. disclosure of the torture memos.

Both he and Panetta recycled the sentiments of the past week that they were people who, in good faith, were doing what they were told. They should be proud of their service to the nation.

So basically, all he's gonna do about torture, he has already done. Case closed. Nothing to see here. Move on!

9. He gave a nice, 'we need you' speech,
thanked Panetta and others. HUGE crowd, and big sustained greeting as he left (just now.)
