I can imagine myself reading an obscure news story of a widowed Lynn Cheney being rescued after being found living at the edge of landfill in a refrigerator carton, subsisting on scavenged scraps and the occasional freshly killed, fire roasted rat ...... and finding the story somehow uplifting.

Giving into the base emotion is identifying yourself as a weak man.

While at first it may seem like that would be the proverbial "They got what was coming" situation, revenge is not a very bright side of humanity. Forgiveness is something that strong men can do but is not often seen. It's what gives one a higher moral character; Compassion toward those who would not necessarily do the same or have not done so in the past.

Someone once said that Lynn Cheney breakfasts every morning on a bowl of black scorpions and cream. The DU archives are full of my rants from my Dallas days when Lynn Cheney and her SS entourage used to pull up in front of my house (2001-2004) to do business with my across-the-street neighbor, a famous Dallas jewelry designer and merchant.

Lynn Cheney couldn't go to the woman's swank retail store at Preston and NW Hiway .. oh nooooo! So I busted them. I called the city and reported a zoning violation. I never saw Lynn Cheney back at Lynn Whats-Her-Name's again! I was a hero with most of the neighbors.

Before leaving Dallas for DC in December 2000, Lynn and Dick lived 8 blocks from me. I have oft posted about my dog, Sirius, being trained to poop in the Cheney's yard and about my confrontations with the Cheneys at the Highland Village Starbucks. My access to Cheney was made easier by my Pentagon press credentials during Gulf War-1. He knew me by name from the press room of the puzzle palace.
