Condi Rice - what was her role in this whole thing?
i don't know much about her (actually i don't know anything about the bush admin, who's scooter??), but at the very least, i always admired her for being an african-american woman holding a high-profile position in government.

what was her role throughout the last 8 years? is she considered a very close adviser to bush like rove and cheney??

and why did colin powell resign?? i always wondered about that especially since he seems to be a highly respected figure.

thanks

1. Don't know about the first part of your question...
but I think that Powell resigned because he finally found the mole on his face and decided it was time to cut it off.

6. IMHO, Condi was window dressing.
She was way in over her head with the BFEE. But I like how she failed as NSA and got promoted to SoS after Colin bailed.

I guess Colin realized that he was used - being the only person in the administration with integrity that could make the casus belli for war with Iraq at the UN. When he realized that Cheney had fed him bogus intel, he resigned. Too bad he didn't expose these war criminals for their illegal/immoral invasion, but I guess he just wasn't willing to publicly admit he was duped.

7. Hard to say in total,
but at least from what P. Zelikow said today, sounds to me as if she spent some effort attempting to apply some reasoning to the administrations actions.
