1. I would have liked to have him say that to my Father's face
(RIP) - a former Steelworker.

That's probably where he was headed.

6. What a jerkoff
I would invite any of them to do some of the jobs I did back when I was on the blue collar side of the workforce. A man fell to his death right next to me one day. That's something you don't see in their world. :grr:

8. He used this as analogy to explain why the patriots draft well and win and the lions do not.

20. Its funny because
The Lions run by super detached hands off CEO proto type Henry Clay Ford jr. The Patriots face is grunt 24/7 non-stop working blue collar man Bill Belichick. So you can see how well the analogy works.

25. Used to do sports on the NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregon
Before he moved into the semi-big time with ESPN Radio. At KGW Channel 8, he had an occasional segment called "Colin's Corner" ("Colin Cowherd's Corner" might have been too suggestive of "KKK") in which he would declaim on any number of sports and non-sports subjects. From those forays into editorializing, it was apparent to me at the time that he was a world-class jerk, and I don't think KGW has shed too many tears that Colin "got away."

13. He makes the most broad generalizations, for example.....
"People from Pittsburgh aren't flashy. There blue collar so that's why the Steelers play good defense."

People from California9ia are weird and quirky. That's why they have coaches like Pete Carroll and owners like Al Davis."

I can only assume he's a huge racist, sexist, etc.... he makes huge general statements about groups of people and regions without any proof or substantiation. I used to listen much but I just can't take that.... "People from Buffalo are.... whatever the f*ck. That's why the Bills are what the f*ck."

15. He's never come off as over the top Republican
At best he's pretty politically ignorant. In general you can tell he liked making lots of money under Clinton, and is not so happy not making as much money under Bush. He's often painful to listen too when he makes political analogies that are suppose to translate into sports. I didn't hear the context of his argument but with Cowherd you usually have to no the narrow sports analogy he's dealing with to even approach guessing what he's coming at.

16. He's a douche, he's very pompous on his show.
The only thing I listen to in the car is ESPN radio and I usually just daydream when his show comes on. Ask a steel worker, construction worker, hell fast food workers or the Deadliest Catch guys if CEO's work harder than they do.

17. Anyone who rips on blue-collar workers has never DONE it.
"Work Hard" my ASS. Blue collar people worked the hardest and got screwed the most in their lives. This generation of workers will likely never be able to retire thanks to the painful inadequacy of the modern wage as it attempts to pay for the ever-rising cost of living.

Most CEOs are a combination of gab, long-term luck, already-made connections and gobs of OPM to buoy their standing. Also, they usually never EVER have any major costly setbacks to their lives like normal taxpaying people do. A blue collar worker does a bad job that affects them only, he/she gets fired. A CEO does a lousy job that affects thousands of workers and other people . . . er . . . they stay on, continue to earn multiple lotteries a year, or resign and get a comfy compensation package worth your average lottery. "Hard Work" . . . indeed.

What a bunch of classist bullshit.

18. The silly git looks at the CEOs laden with Blackberry and cell phone
making deals all during those leisure activities and realizes it's work that lasts far beyond office hours. He then looks at some guy on an assembly line working an 8 hour day and going home to be with his kiddies and gets terribly jealous of the blue collar guy's soft life.

What he doesn't get is that the assembly line guy's job is wrecking his body, and going home after 8 hours plus 4 hours of overtime means he's going to be in pain pretty much permanently, making his "job" last 24/7/365. Since wages have been depressed by a series of conservative administrations, that overtime is not only necessary, it's inadequate and you can bet the wife and the older kiddies are also bringing in paychecks from jobs that are wrecking their bodies.

If assembly line work were that cushy a deal, there would be few men willing to keep their hands clean in offices in tall buildings, being wheeler dealers in their off hours on golf courses and in swanky parties.

These guys have never actually worked hard. They have no idea what it is like to work in construction or in a factory.

24. LMAO did he say that as he picked little pieces of dirt from
under his manicured fingernails? Those poor CEO's, man they must be tired from 12 straight hours of being on the phone, going to meetings, and sitting behind a desk every day. Maybe they need a break. They could come out on the road with me! Get up at 7am, unload 8 52' trailers full of equipment, build the stage, the set, hang the PA, get the lights and video up, do sound check, eat dinner, run the show, tear it all down, reload the trucks and climb onto a bus to sleep for 4 hours while you are driven to another town to get up at 7 and do it all over again. Piece of cake. Hey maybe he'll want to switch salaries with me too.
