because I changed my name, and really most of us are really minor contributors compared to a nancegreggs (opinion) or a mccamytaylor (investigative discussion), so I figure if anyone really needs to know what I've posted they'll look at my journal.

by the way, I used to be 'themartyred', but decided to have a name that had a space between it, and really like the phrase Divine Discontent, and changed it. I always remember when people put 'blue' in their name, and therefore your user name.

I could probably name about 50-100 names without looking, and would say I recognize up to 2000 if I see the name.

It's an interesting question.

That's the total number who've ever gone through the membership process. Of that number some percentage have been banned, some percentage lurk, and some percentage haven't posted here in years. I'd guess that active users who post daily in the fora comprise maybe one-fourth to as little as one tenth that 140K number.

I'd love to see more results. I'm surprised that so many just don't pay attention to names. That explains a lot of really goofy conversations I've seen here! I think I remember about 100 names. I feel it's good to get a sense of what their views are on things so you aren't constantly re-explaining things in threads. Or having a pointless and intractable conversation with someone who is 180 degrees on an issue.
