why did guys like Yoo, Bybee, etc. agree to do what they did instead of resigning or whatever?

- caved into political pressure?
- need to be part of the in-crowd?
- a large cut of the pie if they succeeded?
- for kicks?

i'm just amazed that there are people who would completely abandon and blatantly destroy the very things our country should stand for. it boggles the mind :crazy:. (i hope i don't sound all holier-than-thou or anything like that...just sad about it all)
