There is no such thing as government stimulus. The government merely has the ability to take money from one group of people and hand it to another, merely theft on a grand scale and claimed to be righteous. In this economic setting, with doubt everywhere, and investors unsure of where government will stick its fingers next, the economy does not need more spending/stimulus, it needs bankruptcies, it needs deflation, to move capital from nonprofitable ventures to profitable/sustainable ventures...

While I agree that Obama's stimulus package is not what got us into this mess, it is what will keep us here...similar to the New Deal, it has the ability to turn a recession into a Depression..

Loose monetary policy is what got us here and is what will keep us here. Inflation is the hidden tax that keeps people enslaved to their governments. Our purchasing power of our dollar has been severely, and maybe fatally damaged by the Bush/Obama bailouts. Inflation is going to be a major concern going forward. We need to get back to fundamental Democratic principles, ones that follow the Constitution much more closely.

Ending needless wars and scaling back our empire like military is just the beginning of things that need to be done to allow the US to become financially independent. Deficit spending is not the answer and never has been.
