Like Monty Python’s Black Knight — who claims invincibility, even as his arms and legs are hacked off in battle — Norm Coleman and his team have maintained confidence that they’ll prevail over Democrat Al Franken to win Minnesota’s U.S. Senate seat. With Coleman making his appeal to the state Supreme Court, he’s running out of options (his final one could be the nation’s highest court) — or as artist R.J. Matson puts it in a new cartoon, he’s on his last leg.

Update: A commenter offers another scene from The Holy Grail — a fitting title given Coleman’s quest — the “Castle Anthrax” scene. With the race still undecided nearly six months after election day, commenter “Mill” is reminded of the part where several cast members are shouting, “Get on with it!!”
