Only Experts Can Conduct Torture Properly.
Left to amateurs, we get horrors like Abu Ghraib simply because they don't know how to torture the right way. When experts - professionals - the CIA - conduct torture, no problem.

Is it me, or is this logic completely fucked up??

(Just heard this from Puke Texas Congressman Mac Thornberry)

5. It's completely fucked up.
This is an interesting new twist -- we just didn't torture the 'right way'.

You've gotta be kidding me.

6. Yes, how does one become an "expert" at torture? Theoretically
we shouldn't have any Americans in that category.

9. Problem is, these WERE experts
The same people who train our troops to resist various torture methods were contracted by BushCo to teach our troops how to carry out those tortures, on the job.

If the Repubs keep digging they may find themselves in China -- where, by coincidence, many of the torture techniques we use(d) originally came from.

11. Here's the problem. Torture is torture no matter who does it.
Whether it's for the purpose of having fun or to collect information (which doesn't work).

Torture is torture.

Listening to these guys defend it is bizarre.

14. I don't want a single person with any power paid by my government who is an 'expert' at torture.
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 06:39 PM by w4rma
Especially if they 'have experience' in it.

People like that should be nowhere near the wheels of power.

15. Josef Mengele was an expert.
Der Doktor also specialized in medical experimentation.
After World War II, the CIA's bosses helped him escape justice to South America.
In exchange for his freedom, Mengele helped the Allies learn all about his "discoveries."
And that helps explain why we have such a NAZI influence on America today.
