Poll question: So how scared should we be of this swine flu?
Edited on Sun Apr-26-09 04:37 PM by Danger Mouse
I had/have a cold but it hasn't been severe...but from what I've been hearing I will see a doctor RIGHT away if it gets any worse.
I'm by nature a very nervous and paranoid person. I panic easily, so give me the facts without hyperbole and drama.
How scared should we be of this?

2. Concerned not worried should be a choice
I work with people who have very weak immune systems, so this is a major concern for my patients.

4. I wouldn't bother seeing a doctor. If you're alert enough to be posting,
you aren't that sick!

7. See? I'm paranoid.
:-D
I'm still going to keep a close eye on it. I mean, if I suddenly come down with a fever and feel like total crap, that'll be an obvious giveaway.

6. slightly worried.
Flu season slightly worries me too. I am an outpatient surgical nurse.. so yes, I worry about influenza all of the time.

I don's think people should panic, just follow basic hygienic rituals and stay away from anyone symptomatic.

8. Worry more about wearing your seatbelt or motorcycle helmet.
Quit smoking.

Don't do drugs.

And make sure you wash your hands.

We'll be fine.

10. "Worried"? No need if you're prepared.
Stay informed, stay prepared.

Beyond that, there's little one can do so there's no point in worrying.

13. I dunno. I'm interested, but I'm not worried.
...and I think this virus has real pandemic potential.

My point was that I'm not worried because I know I've made the preparations I can...it's out of my hands now. Had I been just laughing this off as many seem to be, yeah, I'd be worried.

14. I'd be far more concerned if the patients in the US had anything other than slight flu.
Only one American had to be hospitalized so far.

The others have only had average flu symptoms.

Why patients in Mexico are having a worse time of it than we are here is the question.

Until they find out why, or until more people need hospitalization here, I'd say this is much ado about very little.

16. Sounds like you would be terrified no matter what facts we give you
Currently, your chance of dying from Swine flu is far less than your chance of being killed by lightning. Be less worried.

20. Sorry to reply so late..I fell into a nap.
Long history of vaccines containing stuff that we are not told about, then much much later comes the reluctant admission the vaccines did indeed contain something not good for us.
An enormous pile of lawsuits from military folks who were injected with dozens of vaccines that did them great harm, all so people like Rumsfeld and like Jerome Haur of Bio-point could make obscene amounts of money from the DOD to supply un-needed vaccines.
The horror stories about Garisal are just now comong to light.

24. I'm not afraid if it at all.
Like SARS and Bird Flu and all the other hyped up bullshit "pandemics" that were supposed to be so devastating this too is nothing to worry over. Fear not.
