I've been away from the 24 hour Corporate News Spew and from DU all weekend!

Out in the sunshine and fresh air, out in the countryside, was I.

I guess I missed all the flu panic? I'm thinking I might just put my head back in the sand. Seems like a good a plan as any. I normally think the 24 hour Corporate News Spew is 99% full of breathless BS anyway.

Look, I got to spend some time feeding snacks to this recently shorn alpaca. Isn't he spectacular?

The farmer says they don't like getting a haircut so much (the act of the shearing gets them out-of-sorts). Afterwards, they go roll around in grass:

2. Garden zone, not spin zone

for me. Simple pleasures need to be enjoyed, we can only ulcerate ourselves for so long on the daily drivel. Instead of obsessively refreshing the CDC website, I turned another 50 square feet of lawn into garden bed today.

Alpacas have great personalities. My sis has an alpaca farm in Rhode Island.

I've barely paid any attention to it. I will when it actually becomes a pandemic.

And I live in the country myself. Some of my neighbors have alpaca and llama farms. I think they're fascinating.

Freshly shorn (sheared?) alpacas always give me the smiles for some reason. Now I feel the need for a trip to the nearby alpaca farm.
