Conservative Wendy Wright-Flu Pandemic Political to push Sebelius Through
I was just talking to Wendy Wright, the president of the conservative group Concerned Women for America, about the nomination of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (D-Kans.) to run the Department of Health and Human Services. The group opposes the nomination, and Wright is raising some questions about the timing of the swine flu crackdown so close to tomorrow’s cloture vote.

“Some people think that declaring a state of emergency about the flu was a political thing to push the Sebelius nomination through,” said Wright. She pointed to news stories that ask whether the slow-walking of the Sebelius choice will hurt the response to the flu. “If there’s even a hint that is manipulating the health situation to push a political appointee through, well, it almost defies imagination that they’d be willing to that.”

Wright said that she’d heard the speculation “on talk radio,” and wanted to be skeptical, but “there’s too much of a basis in that argument to easily dismiss it.”

1. Oh Jeez...why am I not surprised?
The Progressives orchestrated the Swine Flu epidemic to push Sibelius' nomination through. Riiiight. And we engineered hurricane Katrina to make Bu$h look bad. Honey, there isn't enough tinfoil in the world to line your hat!

Though now that we have real scientists making the Public Health decisions, we might just be able to survive a little longer.

3. Almost?
It almost defies imagination? Apparently she has a particularly fertile imagination, one that has WHO scientists conspiring with Mexico officials to create a make-pretend pandemic. I guess the kids in NYC and others in the US who 'claim' to be sick are really just responding hysterically to the fake news story. Either that or they are all Democrats and are 'in on it.'

It must suck to be that stupid.

4. Gibbs was reallu being pushed to say not having that
position filled impeded their ability to handle this. He firmly denied that it was creating a problem. Some cable people were questioning why he'd be so firm on that but I'm sure it's to not decrease public confidence

I'm sure Ms Wright will promptly offer an aplogy for the accusation implied in this statement
"She pointed to news stories that ask whether the slow-walking of the Sebelius choice will hurt the response to the flu. “If there’s even a hint that is manipulating the health situation to push a political appointee through, well, it almost defies imagination that they’d be willing to that.”"

If there's even a hint of that? We can't say the b word right? OK, I'll use sarcasm instead

That crazily liberal Sebelius from the crazily liberal Kansas is just too crazily liberal for this country and the republicans are trying to save us. Plus how important is health and gee what does health have to fo with a flu pandemic?
