Poll question: Do you think the anti-choice crowd knows if they're in the minority or not?

* No single measure restricting abortion or contraceptives has passed a vote by the People in an election since 2006 (And most of the time, these measures by landslides).
* We had a Republican President, Senate, and House. Did they ban abortion? No.
* Polls have shown consistent support for choice.

1. They can neither read nor count, so probably not.

2. They know. They like feeling persecuted and believe that Christianity is under attack

in the US. Never mind the fact that there are 2 Churches on every street.

4. Good point.

Even though there are a lot of churches in the U.S. the right wingers, who are the most zealous when it comes to the abortion issue, fee that only those who think like they do are "real" christians and they also believe that the "must" be persecuted in order to be "real" christians, so this works well for them. The really crazy ones are so far out of it, they can't understand any kind of rational thinking on this issue. What they do understand is that many who "claim" to pro-life are not, they only claim that because they don't want to be seen as "non-christian" by their friends and church members. There are a lot of people who claim to be pro-life, but when they are in a situation, or their child is, where they must make a choice on abortion, they choose abortion for whatever reason, they just don't tell anyone. It's like drug use, many people on the right say they are against drug use, but at home they use drugs, or abuse prescription drugs.

I also think that many of the real zealous pro-life people would have a hard time making the choice for a loved one that might die without an abortion, and pray they never have to make that choice. It's really easy to say they would let a loved on die instead of consenting to an abortion, but saying and doing are two different things.

3. But... does the majority favor limitations/restrictions on abortions?

Ban on late term abortions...

Requiring parental notification and/or consent for minors...

Not paid for by tax monies and/or government agencies, etc.

5. I hear spokespeople...

...for the various forced-birth organizations claiming they are backed by the majority of U.S. citizens and citing obscure surveys. The homunculi they call their base most certainly believe this, just like they believe Bush is a good man.

6. Uh, they don't CARE.

They're so convinced of their moral superiority that they think they have the right to push the rest of us around.

That's what zealotry is all about, pushing other people around.

7. They believe they have a righteous cause. That they're the minority only fuels them all the more.

"Sinners" are spreading their evil ways far and wide and they have to be all the more vigilant in their cause, etc.

In other words, they know and it's does nothing but fuel to their fire.
