3. No.
They may be blue dogs, but they aren't that stupid. They would never switch to be a minority member with no power.

4. Oh hell no
Even blue dogs have some concept of freedom, which I'm sure they don't want to give up by joining the Rs

5. There's a fatal flaw in that plan--Republicans are mercilessly punishing moderates,
Obama is widely popular, and a moderate Republican just turned Dem out of fear of vindictive GOP party machines.

There is no, I repeat--NO incentive for any blue dogs to join the Republicans.

7. Oh yeah, they have so much to offer.
Minority status and a 21% party affiliation. Where do I sign?

9. So Democrats can take their place in the next election?
It's too dangerous for them to admit what they are.

14. No chance
Edited on Tue Apr-28-09 12:14 PM by DefenseLawyer
Number one, nobody is going to switch to the minority party in the Senate. Number two, Bayh isn't going to EVER have a credible primary opponent run against him, so he will never be in the position Specter has found himself. He's at the top of the food chain in Indiana Democratic politics. No chance.
