The Rethugs Just Do Not Get Why Specter Shows That They Still Have Many Ghosts To Exorcise

They just need to look at The Free Republic. This IS THEIR BASE

I’m glad he’s gone. The more honest the choice gets, the better off for America. Let’s get rid of Snowe, Collins, McCain, etc., too.

They are also liberals, not to be relied on when conservative issues are on the line.

Better to have your friends on your side and your enemies on the other. Specter has been an enemy of conservatism for decades.

I blame the dumb masses in Pennsylvania.

And man oh man, they really are dumb. As clueless and uniformed as they come.

He knows he’s going to lose his primary.

They already have a filibuster majority since he votes with them anyway.

200,000 changed registration mostly for Operation Chaos, IMHO

“Republican Party whose tent is big enough to welcome diverse points of view.”

Could someone pull up the BS Meter on that, please???

Since when do the RINOs think that they speak for the party??? We are a CONSERVATIVE PARTY!!!!!!!

WE’RE TAKING IT BACK BY STORM!!!!! RINO #1: PURGED!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

TOOMEY!!! TOOMEY!!! TOOMEY!!!!!!

They want a Party of Pure Ideology, but fail to even understand that ideology. They also fail to recognise America does not want that. This purist ideology is an anathema to any decent Person.

They have become an extremist Party more closely associated with the Hard Right of the UKs BNP than the Conservative mantle that they try and lay claim to. The GOP has no political equivalent any where in the civilised World.

They want to run Government but do not understand it. They want small government except when it comes to the private lives of people.

I agree with the Freepers on one point. Is this really now the Party for the pre Presidential run McCain or for Olympia Snowe?

2. They can't accept debate at all
You are with them or against them. Talk about insane. But the weaker they make themselves with their little party of racism and intolerance, the better off we all are. Maybe they can all just hole up somewhere and listen to Rush and Hannity and let the sane people worry about making laws and maintaining a functioning government.

4. If they continue this approach they will never get back.
They actually can not see that the likes of Specter leaving is the personification of millions of non hard core Republicans leaving with their votes, money and time.

They have a long long way to go before they are ever electable.

5. They are trapped in the Rightwing Echo Chamber - everything they say or think
is filtered through Fox, Hannity, Beck, Rush, and so on.

Ideological purity as defined by demagogues whose bottom line is cashing in.

7. DUers treated Lieberman the same way.
Edited on Tue Apr-28-09 06:29 PM by Occam Bandage
And Lieberman votes with the Dems 80% of the time, which is far better than Specter's 60% or so party loyalty with the Rs.
