Jim Bunning to switch parties!

Just kidding, but think for a minute.

There's been a much publicized feud going on between Bunning and John Cornyn, the rSCC Chair. Cornyn doesn't want Bunning to run, because he's a sure loser (not to mention a nut case). Bunning has been quoted as saying in private, that he's might just quit the Senate, and allow the Democratic Governor of Kentucky to appoint a Dem replacement.

If Bunning switched, should we support him?

8. A few line drives to the head
I think he must have took a few line drives to the head in his previous career. The election for his seat will be fun! Popcorn sales will go up here in Kentucky for sure!

9. I doubt he'd switch
I think he's getting a great deal of pleasure out of sticking it to the bullies in his party by not bowing out gracefully and allowing some other wingnut GOP to take his place and then run as an incumbent.

In any case, any Democrat from Kentucky would likely be only a whisker to the left of Bunning, so we wouldn't gain much even if he loses the next election as he's supposed to.

Then again, Kentuckians are pretty good about appreciating the determined underdog standing up to the masters of the universe, so he might just win another election there.
