Seemingly impressed by President Obama's success last November, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is adopting the iconic "Yes We Can" slogan for a new campaign video in anticipation of Iran's June 12 presidential election, the Guardian reports. The video's cover depicts Ahmadinejad in his trademark white jacket and a chalk board in the background that is said to read "We can" in Farsi.

Oh Christ -- Rush and Faux Noise just got a month's worth of idiotic bloviating handed to them -- for free.

The President of Iran serves at the will of the Supreme Leader. Ahmadinejad is a figure-head with limited powers. Basically, he's the face-man.

The Iranian people can't stand Ahmadinejad. He's lost popularity even among conservatives there because of his handling of the faltering economy, evaporation of civil liberties and his ridiculous foreign policy.

Most Iranians believe that his rhetoric has worsened Iran's isolation and standing in the world (sound familiar)? Basically, he's Iran's George W. Bush.

When he loses, he'd be replaced by Mir-Hossein Mousavi, who was prime minister from '81 to '89 and current president of the Iranian Academy of Arts, who the Iranians want, and who's stated goals are to "institutionalise social justice, equality and fairness, freedom of expression, and root out corruption". If he wins in June - which is barely two months away (if it's a fair election, of course), Iran won't have Ahmadinejad as its unfortunate mouthpiece, spewing bullshit anymore.
