I just posted this as a reply....
...but believe it deserves a stand alone post on the subject of "conspiracy theories"

Well suppose that multiple generations of an American Family

Manipulated banks, traded with Nazis during a time of war, worked to support the Bay of Pigs, were present and connected at the assassination of JFK, were implicated in the October surprise, were involved in the Silverado bank failure, ran the Iran-Contra operations, were friends scheduled to dine with the Hinckley's the evening one of them shot a president, Succeeded to the presidency thru a supreme court packed with stooges, ignored warnings of a terrorist attack, started an illegal war, suspended Habeus Corpus, tortured prisoners, and then we found out that a shitload of Democrats knew all of this and these clowns are walking around FREE-Well yes-we could still handle it, but real soon we will find out which "democrats" helped and see whether we demand a full accounting and criminal prosecution. And thanks for asking, because unlike so many I do not believe in "conspiracy theory" but rather as a sane person I believe in coincidence theory-that when bad things happen around your family over multiple generations and half a century....it ain't no coincidence.

and then later spend trillions to chase down his brother and associates...

Or maybe your Daddy was in Dallas in November 63' but didn't like the idea of the FBI ever noticing the fact. Maybe your Daddy then called the FBI on his own and implicated a friend of his in the assassination of JFK. Maybe you would lie to the FBI and specifically mention that you are NOT in Dallas, even if you are at the time of the call.

And maybe, just maybe, if you do those things you have been a spook all your life and your "successful" company, say, Zappata, was a just a CIA cover. Maybe you would grow worried about the call after you became president and then diverted attention to it by saying that it must have been " Another George Herbert of the CIA " that was briefed on the JFK assassination.

Maybe you'll be lucky and live in a country where people won't check out for themselves if there was another CIA George Herbert.... Maybe you'll be lucky enough to live in a country where people actually find out that there was another GH but that it is simply no possible that he is the GH mentioned by the FBI.

Allot of maybes.

The young progressive element of the democratic party should start to talk about Karl Roves concept of "discernible reality" and that maybe, just maybe that is a pretty fuckin' big thing in all of our lifes.

7. But the times they are a-changing. Too late, granted, but the term BCF is a step...

... in the right direction. One day, I'm gonna be the one asked to write history textbooks (inshalla, that is)- and I won't forget to mention those things.

6. Or perhaps you invest in one of those Barrick Goldmines

and when those uppity black folks living on your mines start a fuss you just bulldoze right over their human rights. Don't forget to react really aggressive when someone tries to lay the moral responsibility for that on you.
