3.2 Trillion dollars is a lot of money*

it is .2 Trillion dollars more than Bush's budget the year before

*the aforementioned $3.2 Trillion includes ALL costs of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is new.

Bush's proposal, totaling almost $3 trillion for the budget year starting Oct. 1, will kick off a major debate with the new Democratic-controlled Congress. Democrats are sure to press for more money for domestic programs, and they've signaled they won't consider renewing Bush's tax cuts until closer to 2010, when they are to expire.

5. I think it says that Obama is including the two Wars costs in his budget whereas Bush didn't.

I could be wrong...but that was my impression. :shrug:

Under Reagan...our Federal Debt increased by 1.55 trillion

Under Bush 1....it increased 900 billion

Under Clinton...it increased by 240 billion

Under Bush 2...it increased by 4.97 Trillion

Under Obama...so far...it's increased by 200 billion...(this is a projection though)

SO...In the really big picture...

Let's make sure we don't confuse the budget with the debt or bail-out money

They all contribute to the existing debt but the budget is just the annual projection and actual spending (and revenue)
