He cited a poll that showed a dramatic swing in perceived race relations in America. The poll showed that about a year ago, only ~30% African Americans considered relations good. Today that figure is up to over 60%.
Then Tweety reflected on the OJ Simpson trial, and the disbelief of many AAs that Obama could get elected during the primary.
It was quite interesting. Tweety said he never doubted Obama could get elected because he didn't think the majority of white Americans were racist at a level that would prevent them for voting for Obama. Then he commented that for a minority person surrounded by a dominate culture, it is difficult to gauge how the majority population thinks because they can only draw from their own experiences...That's not exactly what he said, but pretty close.
I'm surprised there wasn't discussion on DU about what he was saying, but it was pretty late at night by that time.
