19. all you need is some Tamiflu. Send to Canada for some and you are
as prepared as anyone. It has a seven year shelf life so you'll be flu ready for years.

4. You missed a choice:
Yawn.

But, hey...the kids in my town are loving it. All the schools are shut down.

5. How about:
Let's wait and see. The health authorities are doing what they should at this point.

The media never seems to meet our needs any more on anything, so why should this be any different?

I am immuno-compromised, so I get a flu shot and a pneumonia shot every year. I will take precautions, and call my doctor and my local health department if I have any questions.

p.s. The piggie is cute.

6. I'm more interested in watching how the world adapts to new media technologies
and how we all interpret sources than the flu itself. It will either peter out or it will grow. It doesn't seem deadly or cataclysmic. I'm not afraid of catching a flu. I do hope all the alerts help make the elderly and immune-challenged folks stay safe.

16. I was thinking about that earlier
because at this point I am more annoyed than concerned. It seems like multiple times a day I hear or read something that seems to contradict the last thing I read or saw. There is so much information coming in from so many places, it is hard to sort out the good info from the bad. (nevermind misinformation and perhaps disinformation)I am glad that it is being taken seriously and handled as a possible pandemic, and it is probably a good thing to test the systems we have in place. So far it doesn't seem much worse than regular flu, though I know that can change any minute.

7. My hubby works at University of Delaware --
4 confirmed cases thus far with up to 12 more probable. He was sent home today and to the hospital for having symptoms. Sample is currently at the CDC -- we are waiting word on the results.

17. Please take care of him and yourself.
I would be concerned if a loved one had the flu or symptoms. Right now, I am just watchful.

Keep us informed.

18. Thanks... I will let everyone know when we find out. I am
supposed to TA a class tomorrow. I think I will sit this one out for myself and, more importantly, the students.
