Reactionary, Hateful, Christian Radio Attacking Obama with Lies.
Driving through Wyoming yesterday, I discovered a really sobering
and malicious radio network spreading Lies, Lies, Lies, and more Lies.

You will not believe the political stuff!!
They were encouraging listeners to write to Homeland Security
to stop classifying anyone who opposes Obama a terrorist ....
They want DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano fired.

I think this is the network.
Several stations in WY: http://www.pilgrimradio.com/Home.php

4. Nope. Checked it out. FM
In the 89.7 range. But it's regional and not national.

15. No wonder I was surprised (having lived in Austin, TX)
Silly me. And I knew the towns were arranged by state, too.

Color my face red.

6. What a weird site!
Religious nuts baffle me. The crap level in this thread is overwhelming. They distort, twist, and lie, then overreact to their own insane paranoia. These people are sick in the head.

8. I know if I posted this over there it would get deleted in a heartbeat

But I'm thinking about creating a Poe account just to have it on for a minute or two.

5. "Christian" radio is the most vile, hateful thing I have ever heard.
The stations in the tiny towns and out in the sticks seem to be the craziest. I don't hear anything "Christian" in anything they say regarding politics. Just older, uneducated, angry white men screeching their hate and fear to like-minded cretins. Ick!

9. You see there's a certain percentage of Americans who are too dull-witted to use their own
brains and are incapable of reading and understanding the written word. They must listen to what those in 'authority' tell them. So they turn toward their 'churches' and those smart people on their TV's and radios. Those controlling the churches and media know that these citizens rely on them for their very thoughts, so exercise their voices to gently 'sway' them into believing anything they say.

11. Not to mention, attempting to spin everything.
They also know this stuff then gets repeated, and influences the "mean" viewpoint.

13. I have tried several times to bring this to the attention of Media Matters
Someone needs to monitor "Christian" radio and call them out on what gets broadcast there. There is no difference between "Christian" radio and your typical right-wing AM talk station, except that they have religious programming thrown in every now and then for good measure (and the vast majority of the hosts of the shows are sympathetic to the GOP). Tony Campolo has a radio show but it's broadcast in Britain and on iTunes, because "Christian" radio here won't touch him.

On the Salem Communications station here, I've heard radio spots for Newsmax. NEWSMAX. They were running radio spots giving away free Sarah Palin biographies with subscriptions to Newsmax during the campaign season. They also have Ann Coulter book giveaways. And I tell Media Matters about it. I tell them about the crap Janet Parshall spews. And I get no response. "Bible Answer Man" Hank Hanegraff constantly eludes to Obama not being a "true" Christian because of his political stances. I've heard him sarcastically disparage Al Gore (such "Christian" behavior, huh?) on issues related to global warming. And because no one is monitoring it (or no one cares), they get a pass. It's frustrating and just as delusional and disturbing as anything I've heard on reich-wing AM airwaves. One of the worst offenders when he was alive was D. James Kennedy. And of course there's Dobson.

These people need to be called out because they get away with such outrageous lies. I monitor as best I can but I'm only one person. There needs to be an organized, concerted effort mounted by progressives regardless of religious affiliation. It'll stop when they realize they're being watched. CLOSELY. :banghead:
